Re: [India_Vision_2020] India Vision Group and ELTF honours Indian Bank and State Bank of India for edu loan

This is excellent. Full marks to the banks for taking up our complaints seriously and acting on time. People dont realise that they are dealing with childrens' lives here by acting lazy and bureaucratic. But if in that lot, we see some shine, surely we should praise them and recognise them.

I liked what you said about, when they are wrong, we accuse them at same time , we should appreciate them when they are right! This task force is doing a major service to the society. My heartfelt congratulations to all involved. May the force go on and on...

hi all

When we formed Education Loan Task Force last year (ELTF) as part of India Vision Group, we had great challenges and many banks were not following the guidelines properly.  There were many complaints.  Our media friends also carried articles in their media about the education loan guidelines to create awareness.

Many Public Sector Banks have been giving us lot of support and cooperation. Whenever, we brought to the notice of senior officials about the aberrations, many banks (excepting some) took up  our complaints seriously and rectified the complaints.

From our past one year experience, we have identified two banks for honouring during the 5th  UnConference of Action 2020  scheduled on 23rd December 2010 at Chennai.  They are State Bank of India, Chennai Circle and Indian Bank Head Office.

Both the banks are the toppers in granting education loan both in India and in Tamilnadu.  Whenever we made complaints to the CGM (State Bank of India) and Chairman of Indian Bank, they promptly responded and followed up with the students and the branches to sort out the problems.  Whenever we reported  that the guidelines were not followed, they took immediately remedial actions.  At our request, both the banks issued circulars to their Regional offices on some of the common problems faced by the students.

Though, ELTF does not expect 100% perfection of the branches in  following the guidelines due to their large network and manpower, we expected the banks to be more responsive whenever we brought the problems to their notice.  We are really happy that both the banks, took pro-active initiatives and handled every complaints in a professional way.

ELTF takes pleasure in complimenting both the banks, particularly Mrs Cauvery (DGM of State Bank of India) and Mr Swaminathan (Chief Manager, Indian Bank Head Office and in charge of Education Loan) for their cooperation. Both these senior officials were coordinating with ELTF on behalf of their respective banks.

As a token of our appreciation, on behalf of India Vision Group and  ELTF. we  will be inviting them to the 5th UnConference of Action 2020 and honour them on 23rd December 2010.

Whenever, we find fault with them, we accuse them.  At the same time, we should also not forget to appreciate  and  honour them, when they respond positively.  This will motive them further to contribute more  for the nation building.  Hope our gesture will motivate other banks also to contribute more and more to the nation.

On behalf of India Vision Group and ELTF, we congratulate State Bank of India and Indian Bnk for their contribution to the nation  through education loan.

Hi all

The date of honouring SBI and Indian Bank is wrongly mentioned as 23rd December.  Please read this as Sunday the 23rd January 2011.  Sorry for the mistake.
