[India_Vision_2020] Happy Deepavali

On behalf of the coordinators of Action 2020 team and moderators of India Vision Group, we wish all our members, a very happy Deepavali.

Last evening Dr Y S Rajan. Co-Author of the book India 2020 with Dr Kalam and presently distinguished professor of ISRO at Bangalore called me over phone and conveyed his Deepavali Greetings to all the members of India Vision and Action 2020 Group.  India Vision Group was started in April 2003 only under the inspiration of Dr Y S Rajan.

[India_Vision_2020] October 2010 issue of ezine on 'Public Affairs' (PA) [1 Attachment]

"Public Affairs", popularly known as 'PA',  is one of the reputed professions in the developed nations like US and Europe.  Though, there are controversies about 'unethical lobbying' even in those countries, they have in-built systems to check the professional conduct.

Public Affairs is emerging as a sub-sect of Public Relations Agencies in India, in the recent past. Definitely, it is going to have a big market in India.   Many PR Agencies have declared in their websites that they offer PA to their clients.  Meanwhile, in the past months, one of the CEOs of a well known PR Agency was debated for the alleged  involvement of 2G Spectrum Scam.  Even two days back, Indian Supreme Court has come out heavily on the Government for not taking actions.  

With this background, PA is being perceived negatively in India.   When we decided last month to focus the theme of October 2010 issue of ezine on 'Public Affairs', we wrote to many of the CEOs who have declared 'PA' as part of their services.  To our surprise, excepting two, none of them even acknowledged our mail, leave alone giving their comments.  

However, we were able to get views from International experts and other Indian experts.  While compiling the ezine, we found that 'non-transparency' is the main factor of such negative perception about the profession.  When few of the  PA practitioners resort to 'lobbying' with un-ethical practices and bribery, the genuine professionals also get a bad name.

[India_Vision_2020] Tips to become a successful communicator

Mr Era. Sezhiyan (88) is  one of the well respected Parliamentarians and Statesmen of India.  He has served both the House of Parliament for more than 22 years continuously till 1984.  He is well known for his Parliamentary debates. Whenever he used to raise to speak in Parliament, even the Prime Ministers used to listen to him carefully.  Many a times, due to his debate, even the Budgets were modified.  

He is still considered an authority on Financial matters of the Governance.   Even at his 88th age, he is keeping updated with the global Parliamentary practices.  He is also one of the Founders of Janata Party and then Janata Dal along with Jayaprakash Narayan, Morarji Desai and few others.  For many constitutional matters, even today, many of the National and International media used to take his views.  Due to his poor health, he has restricted his public meetings.

On 24th October 2010, he interacted with the participants of Business Communication Course at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai.  As one of the celebrated Parliament debaters, he shared his views on effective communication.  According to him, whether it is a political communication or corporate communication, the concept remains the same.  In an exclusive interview for PodUniversal, we asked him what was his secret of communication, which made everybody to turn to him.  Some of the views are:

1.  Communication should come from the heart; Communication in flowery languages to please the auidence and without any purpose is not an effective communication'

2.  Clarity of theme is needed for communication;

3.  People with good knowledge should come out openly with their views;

4.  Keep in mind that the people listening to you are not inferior to you;

5.  Communication should be to share your knowledge and to improve others;

6.  Morality and value should be embedded in the communication.

I see this mail very late. I wish to covey my Whole hearted wishes to our super man Mr.Abdul Kalam who is having good name and REPUTE  in all western countries.

 

Iam sending this mail from Canada.Officially i came to canda and will be here for 1 year.While discuss with locan canadian people i came across every common man knows Kalam sir and immediately respect him which is very proud being  a Indian.

 

I have been amazed by Canadian people  while talk about Kalam sir.Really that moment is great memorable incident  in my life.

 

I speacially thanks srinivasan sir because of him only i joined this team and i earned lots of experience and guidance especially at Education loan.

 

I have arranged  7 ed.loan for the village students this financial year and  i am happy to submit this credit to our honourable team.

 

I have visited UK and canada and i got onething .....only one different the govt system is very strong which is not in india.Really canada is  lagged compare to india in telecom development.But the country holding good economical status and corruption also very thin here.

 

They have regulatory body for every department and they are implementing infrastructure in a proactive manner.

 

This is the grey area we have to initiate something for our nation...and our next generation. 

 

I hope we will achieve more  in the upcoming days  and i trust tomorrow is our's to celeberate.

Just now, I got a message from Mr V Ponraj, Advisor to Dr Abdul Kalam that Dr Kalam has seen our greetings message sent in the morning  and in turn he thanked all the members of India Vision and Action 2020 team.  He also conveyed his greetings to all of us.  We are greatly privileged to receive his blessings exclusively, when he enters 80th year.  

Today, he is celebrating his birthday at Edathua, in Allapuzha (Kerala).  In this place 200 years old  Church has celebrated Dr Kalam's birthday by planting 80 trees.  

Yesterday, he spent the day with the students of IIST, Thiruvananthapuram who celebrated his birthday.  At stroke of midnight, his friends joined together at Allapuzha to cut the cake.

Let us all together celebrate this great occassion, when he enters 80th year.  Let us pray His Almighty to bless Dr Kalam with a long and healthy life to guide the youth and the Nation.
