held in
Chennai on 14th & 15th December 2007
The Media Information and Communication Centre of India (MICCI) is a non-profit trust devoted to organizing seminars, conferences, workshops, research and publications in the field of media with a national and international focus.
The media plays a significant role in disaster preparedness, mitigation and management. Also, realizing the significance of the concept of 'Community Based Disaster Management", MICCI proposes to conduct a two day workshop on "Media and Disaster Management" in collaboration with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, (FES) and the local partner Indian Online Media Forum (IOMF) on 14 th and 15th December 2007 in Chennai at Hotel Chennai Gateway, (near Koyambedu Junction), Koyambedu, Chennai.
The workshop aims at sensitizing journalists, media academics and students, NGOs, and government officials in the area of disaster management and the media's role in it. T he programme includes direct interaction with the experts and academics from the respective fields.
We would be grateful if you can participate in this workshop meant for capacity building on Disaster Management.
