Dear Friends, I am happy to share a video summary of my latest article "Post-Orientalism and Geopolitics: Three debates that Inform Islam and US Foreign policy". This article was published in the Spring issue of Insight Turkey and examines how Islamic studies in the West has evolved and how that impacts US foreign policy. The key element is the summary of the three debates between Bernard Lewis and co, and John Esposito et al, on (1) The Clash of Civilizations (2) The Compatibility of Islam and Democracy (3) US Foreign Policy and Political Islam.
