[India_Vision_2020] Saluting ISRO scientists for the successful launch of PSLV C16

hi all

ISRO has today successfully launched PSLV C 16.  They have also placed three satellites, including Resourcesat-2 in the orbit.  This is the 18th launch of PSLV with 16 uninterrupted success.

Those who had watched live the launch of PSLV today morning, would not have missed the tense and delightful 18 minutes, till the launch was declared successful, after placing the three satellites in the respective orbits. I could see the tension on the face of the scientists. I saw few of them praying with folded hands.   It may be recalled that in 2010, ISRO's launch of GSLV satellite was not successful and the satellite went into bay of Bengal.  Probably, the entire Nation joined them with prayers for the success.

In this Mission, they have also sent three high resolution cameras for taking pictures.  First set of pictures will be received by the control authorities from the satellite from 28th April.

Today's event is a historical event in Indian Space Mission.  India has positioned herself as the leader in 'Remote Sensing'. India will be supplying important data to various countries in future.

It was quite heartening to see Dr Radhakrishnan, Chairman of ISRO introducing all his team leaders and asking them to speak for few minutes to the Nation through live telecast.  That proved the good leadership and team spirit of ISRO.

Dr Radhakrishnan assured the Nation today that they will be launching PSLV C-17 and C-18 shortly.

ISRO scientists have made India and all the citizens proud.  Let us pray for their future success too. It is a much bigger a victory for India  than the Word Cup. At least in future, let us hope such scientific achievements and global positioning of India will receive deserved media attention.

Again during this year, we will be honouring the top Parliamentarians, who have scored top position in  debates, private bills and questions  on Saturday the 7th May 2011 at Chennai.

Presently, due to various reasons, a 'smear campaign' is being held in India against the Institution of Politics itself.  No doubt, there are many politicians are badly perceived.  At the same time, nothing can happen without politics.  There are many politicians, who contribute to the Nation silently with a visionary zeal.  Our purpose is to identify them and encourage them.

There are many youngsters, who want to enter into politics and practice development politics.  Due toe to smear campaign, they are also hesitant to join politics.  If good people, do not join politics, the institution of politics will be ruined.  In view of this, we are organising a round-table interaction session with eminent politicians, who have been practicing development politics on that day, immediately after Award Ceremony.  Though this interaction session, we want to develop social leadership among the youth.

Interested youth, who want to be part of the round table interaction session, may kindly submit their details through the link given below.  There is no participation fee.

Since, we want to take only 50 youngsters, on the first come first served basis, interested youth may kindly register immediately.  This is being held in Chennai, interested youth in the neighbouring states also may join.    We will intimate them  personally other details after registration.  The programme is on Saturday the 7th May 2011 between 10 am and 1 PM.

For more details, interested youth may contact me at 91766 50273 or Vinod at 9884124248.

The registration closes on 25th May or even earlier, when we reach sufficient number.

[India_Vision_2020] 108 bigger than 911…!!!

Some of you might even wonder whether I have lost my sense of mathematical comparison and some others might think whether I am referring to the number 108 with some spiritual significance for chanting names! But people from USA would immediately relate to the number 911, which is used for Emergency situations. Yes, I am talking about Emergency Response services.

Yesterday, I had an opportunity to visit EMRI at Hyderabad, which is popularly known as 108 Emergency Response Service, and I was requested to give a talk on some of the medical research work that I am involved with. I was also given a tour of all the services provided at EMRI. I was very much impressed with the facilities and the wonderful services provided by EMRI. I really believe that EMRI has changed the way the poor people in our country get access to world class emergency response services.

EMRI (http://www.emri.in/ ) handles medical, police and fire emergencies through the "1-0-8 Emergency service". This is a free service delivered through state-of-art emergency call response centers and has over 2600 ambulances across Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. With the expansion of fleet and services set to spread across more states, EMRI will have more than 10,000 ambulances covering over a billion population by 2011. As an Indian, I was proud to know that EMRI 108 has already overtaken the 911 service in USA. EMRI is currently the largest emergency service provider in the world, with capabilities to handle 200,000 calls per day, responding to 30 million emergencies and saving 1 million lives annually! And the best part was that our great ex-President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was the main inspiration behind EMRI and to quote his own words "EMRI is a solution from a developing country for the developing world". It goes to prove strongly that with such INSPIRED TECHNOLOGICAL SERVICES, there is still HOPE for the poor in our country and also CONFIDENCE for the Youth that INDIA VISION 2020 (http://www.indiavision2020.org/ ) will be a reality!!!

[India_Vision_2020] Performance of MPs till the Budget Session 2011 of 15th Lok Sabha [1 Attachment]

[Attachment(s) from Prime Point Srinivasan included below]

dear all

At the end of every Parliament Session, we always analyse the performance of our Parliament members and applaud the performance of some of the top performers.  Till 25th March 2011, the current 15th Lok Sabha had 7 Sessions with 158 sittings.

The performance of the members is analysed based on (1) their participation in debates, (2) Private Member Bills introduced by the members  (3) Questions raised by them and (4) their attendance.  (We are not taking into account MPLad fund, since almost all the members use the fund fully)

Lok Sabha Secretariat publishes the performance of all the Members in their site www.locksabha.nic.in.  PRS India, a parliament research  organisation compiles and publishes the consolidates performance of all members in their site www.prsindia.org.  Based on the details furnished by them, we are now analysing the performance of the members.

Top 5 overall performers of 15th Lok Sabha till Budget 2011 (158 sittings)
(Debates participated + private bills introduced + Questions raised)

1. Shri Anandarao Adsul (Maharastra, Shiv Sena) - Total tally 567
2. Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir (Maharashtra, BJP) - Total tally 566
3. Shri Asaduadin Owaisi (AP, AIMEM) Total tally 539
4. Shri S S Ramasubbu (Tamilnadu, Congress) Total tally 532
5.  Shri Pradeep Kumar Majhi (Orissa, Congress) - Total tally 506

On behalf of Prime Point Foundation and ezine PreSense, we will be giving Awards to the above 5 top performing Parliamentarians on 7th MMay 2011 at Chennai.

Debates, Private Bills and Questions - Individually top performers:

Debates:  Shri Shailendra Kumar (UP, Samajwadi Party) tops with participation in 161 debates.
Private Bills - Shri  Hansraj Gangaram Ahir (Maharashtra, BJP) and Shri Jaiprakash Agarwal (Delhi, Congress) - both have introduced 17 private bills in the current Lok Sabha individually and both are toppers.
Questions - Shri Anandarao Adsul (Maharastra, Shiv Sena) tops with 545 questions in the current Lok Sabha.

Top performers in Attendance

Shri P T Thomas (Kerala, Congress), Shri K P Dhanapalan (Kerala, Congress) and Shri Aruna Kumar Vundavalli (AP, Congress) have secured 100% attendance in the entire 15th Lok Sabha till Budget Session 2011.

Poor performance MPs

1.  18 MPs have not 'opened their mouth' during the entire 15th Lok Sabha (all the 158 sittings). This list includes Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Shri Bhajan Lal, Actress Vijaya Shanthi, Shri Rahul Gandhi, Shri Ramesh Kumar of South Delhi Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy (AP).  Their tally is 'zero'.

2.  Shri Chandrasekhar Rao (AP, TRS ) has attendance of only 7% (least among the entire Lok Sabha) and has a tally of only 1 for participation in debates, etc.

Let us all Congratulate all the top performers.  At the same time, let us also pray God to give sense of responsibility to the non performing members, so that they will start doing their democratic duty by participating in the sessions and discussing the issues of their constituencies and their state.  As elected members of Lok Sabha, they are required to discharge their duties within the House by taking up the issues.

The full list of the performance of all the members is attached herewith in excel sheet.  (courtesy PRS India).  You may also analyse the performance of the members of your constituency and the state and write in your blogs.  Media persons can also write about the performance of the members of their respective states.  If you need more details, you may visit www.loksabha.nic.in and also www.prsindia.org
