[India_Vision_2020] Jan 2010 issue of ezine on "Education Loan" [2 Attachments]

[Attachment(s) from Prime Point Srinivasan included below]

hi

We are pleased to release the Jan 2010 issue of ezine on Education Loan Scheme in India.  With the growing number of students seeking higher education in India and abroad, there is a huge demand for education loans from Banks.  The students and parents do not have much awareness about the friendly schemes announced by Reserve Bank of India and Indian Banks' Association.

Even though the model guidelines strictly prohibit the Banks from demanding collateral security and third party guarantee for the education loans upto 4 lakhs, many of the branch managers do not follow these rules.

In order to create an awareness about Education Loans, we are bringing out the details of the Scheme, case studies, role and responsibilities of bankers and students, etc.  We are also fortunate to get the views from the Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India and Deputy Chief Executive of Indian Banks' Association.

India Vision Group and ezine PR-e-Sense have set up a Task force with many eminent people as Advisors to create awareness about the Education Loan Scheme among the poor and deserving students.

The ezine may also be downloaded from
http://www.prpoint.com/ezine/presense0110.pdf

The Revised Model Scheme of Indian Banks' Association is also circulated as annexure to this ezine and can be downloaded from
http://www.prpoint.com/ezine/eduloan-IBA.pdf

We have made this ezine as a guide to any student / parent seeking education loan.  You may also feel free to circulate among deserving students.

Please send your suggestions and comments to editor (at) corpezine.com

[India_Vision_2020] Educational Scholarship - Task Force !

Dear Friends

Last few weeks you all would have seen mails on state of educational loans in higher education and how many low income families are not in a position to access to loans. RBI directive is upto  4 Lkahs, no colletral required other than identity/few other valid documents. But reality is different.

An attempt is being mooted by India Vision group to see how best this existing direction & rules of banks can be availed. Most of the times it is lack of information & also attitude of individuals which deter it.

Action 2020 team - group of India VIsion 2020 will have a setup called "Educational Scholariship - Task Force". Will be headed & guided by Shri.Srinivasan(I also like to point out he has been a career Bank official) our moderator supported by a team whom will represent all constituent groups of Action2020 team !

As for start the road ahead would be -

a) Train the task force members on simple loan procedure.
b) Assist loan requirements for genuine students(guidelines will be formed very soon) proposed by Action2020 groups !
c) Mentoring students for whom loan guidelines are being given.(Ofcourse this will involve many volunteers from across the spectrum)

We seek to start a humble beginning to an age old problem in Indian higher education. Hope this will come to be a good model to emulate & our humble efforts will sprial a even stronger wave !

Action 2020 teams -

Kindly nominate one representative from your organisation, who will be in the task force. This is one of the fundamental problems many of you guys have been raising and here is a chance to avail it !! Kindly send the nominations to myself(in this id) or moderator(prpoint at gmail) at the earliest. Any of us with groups will know right from day one this is a BIG walll to break. Together as action2020 let us try to address it (within the confines of existing system - Yes frame work does exist. lets make it work :))

Will keep the groups on further development ! These are only skeletal details, more will follow in days to come.

Regards
shiva

[India_Vision_2020] Dr Abdul Kalam remains as No 1 Icon when Indian Republic turns 60

Hi all

Happy Republic Day Greetings to all.

In the survey conducted by CNN IBN in partnership with Hindustan Times, Dr Abdul Kalam continues to maintain the leadership in his Iconic status in India, when Indian Republic truns 60.  We are extremely fortunate to be mentored by him in the Nation building.  On this joyous occassion, let us re-dedicate ourselves in our journey to make India a developed Nation by 2020, under the able mentorship of Dr Kalam.  Please read the CNN IBN story.

http://ibnlive.in.com/news/kalam-remains-an-icon-as-republic-of-india-turns-60/109159-3.html?from=tn

New Delhi: The Republic of India is going to become 60 years old on January 26, 1950.

CNN-IBN commissioned GFK Mode to conduct an opinion poll among senior citizens in India to find out who they idolise.

Who are the icons of the India in its sixth decade?

Here are the results of the poll that we carried out in partnership with the Hindustan Times.

The survey conducted across the country says that former president of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam towers over the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Rahul Gandhi.

So it is the missile man all the way for India's senior citizens.

The People's President has yet again topped popularity charts to be voted the Icon of India.

An opinion poll done by CNN-IBN and GFK Mode shows that Kalam is who senior India looks up to and it is a pan India opinion, from small towns to metros.

Ex-president Kalam finds an over whelming preference in the South at 73 per cent, pushing other icons like Rahul Gandhi, Ratan Tata and Kiran Bedi to a distant second and third place respectively.

The survey says while former president Kalam is the favoured icon amongst men with 39 per cent votes, Rahul Gandhi is second with 14 per cent men favouring him and only nine per cent men like Ratan Tata as icon.

The grand old ladies also give a thumbs up to the ex-president with 36 per cent supporting him and only 12 per cent holding Rahul Gandhi in iconic status, pushing him to a third postion. Others prefer super cop Kiran Bedi at 15 per cent.

The trend continues in small towns and metros with 12 per cent people in small towns having voted for Ratan Tata, 21 per cent for Rahul Gandhi, putting Kalam on the top again at 28 per cent

The large towns are no different.

Kiran Bedi has got 11 per cent of the votes, Rahul Gandhi 14 per cent and Kalam an overwhelming 39 per cent.

In the metros Kalam beats Congress's Yuvraj (crown prince) by almost 30 per cent.

Kalam tops the list with 40 per cent, followed by Rahul Gandhi at 11 per cent and Kiran Bedi at nine per cent.

The opinion poll has also found that former Indian cricket captain and the Prince of Kolkata enjoying a fable like iconic status in Kolkata at 24 per cent of votes.

[India_Vision_2020] Our next ezine on Education Loan - MP's assurance to take up in Parliament

hi all

As a responsible Social Media and Group, we have been taking up issues of common concern through our network.  Many times, we have also achieved success.  As announced earlier, Education Loan Scheme by Indian Banks is a great cause of concern to many deserving students.  We are dedicating our Jan issue of ezine on Education Loan and will be released next week.

Earlier, we had published an exclusive freewheeling interview with Dr K C Chakrabarty, Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India.  Now based on that interview, on behalf of India Vision Group and Action 2020 team, we have  recorded  an exclusive interview with Mr T K Rangarajan, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, a senior CPI M MP.

Please listen to his exclusive interview in the following link
http://www.poduniversal.com/2010/01/poduniversal-edition-97-in-our-earlier.html

Mr T K Rangarajan has assured us that he would take up the issue seriously in the coming Budget Session of Parliament. He has also requested our India Vision team to meet him with more details (after the ezine is released), so that he could take up with Parliament.   He would also handover the copy of our ezine on Education Loan to Hon'ble Union Finance Minister and discuss with him personally.

Meanwhile, we have also taken up with Mr M V Nair, Chairman, Indian Banks' Association for an exclusive interview.  So far, we have not received any response from them.  If their response  comes within a day or two, we will also publish their views.

As usual, our Jan 2010 issue of ezine will be released by the end of next week.

I spoke to Dr Rajan over mobile and greeted him.  He is doubly happy that his distinguished professorship is also named after Dr Vikaram Sarabhai.  Dr Rajan conveyed his greetings to all the members of India Vision group and Action 2020 Team.

This is inrecognitionof his contirbutions in shaping India's Space Programme in the formative years and also for his immense contributions in policy formulation and long term planning of the Indian Space Programme in various phases and its applications to the benefit of society.  He will be based at ISRO Headquarters at Bengaluru".

Congrats Dr Y S Rajan.  I once had the opportunity of interacting with him and talking to him during a meeting organised by CySI in AG's officein Chennai in Sept 2007.  It is very heartening that he has been conferred with the  wonderful distinction, which I am sure, he richly derserves.  On behalf of CySI and personally too I heartily congratulate him on this occasion and look forward to seeing him personally tocongratulate him.

Is there anything you heard about or know of anyone whom we could trust to send money and stay assured your money reached the Haiti people??
