Congrats Dr Y S Rajan. I once had the opportunity of interacting with him and talking to him during a meeting organised by CySI in AG's officein Chennai in Sept 2007. It is very heartening that he has been conferred with the wonderful distinction, which I am sure, he richly derserves. On behalf of CySI and personally too I heartily congratulate him on this occasion and look forward to seeing him personally tocongratulate him.

hi all
Dr Y S Rajan is the co-author of the book India 2020 with Dr Abdul kalam. When Dr Kalam was the Chairman and Dr Rajan was the Executive Director of TIFAC, they made extensive study and brought out Vision (2020) document for India.
This online India Vision Group was started by me in April 2003 under the guidance and support of Dr Rajan, to bring together like minded people. Till date, he continues to be our member and mentor.
Dr Rajan has held high positions in Government of India. Now, I am happy to share that Dr Y S Rajan has been conferred with 'The Dr Vikram Sarabhai Distinguished Professorship' by ISRO. Incidentially, Dr Rajan was mentored by Dr Vikaram Sarabhai himself and he named his son (now a scientist) as Vikram. That is his passion and love towards Dr Vikaram Sarabhai.
I spoke to Dr Rajan over mobile and greeted him. He is doubly happy that his distinguished professorship is also named after Dr Vikaram Sarabhai. Dr Rajan conveyed his greetings to all the members of India Vision group and Action 2020 Team.
This is inrecognitionof his contirbutions in shaping India's Space Programme in the formative years and also for his immense contributions in policy formulation and long term planning of the Indian Space Programme in various phases and its applications to the benefit of society. He will be based at ISRO Headquarters at Bengaluru".
Our Bangaluru Members can take advantage of his presence there.
India Vision Group and Action 2020 Team feel honoured and proud that one of our Mentors has been honoured by ISRO. Let us all Congratulate him for his new role in shaping future space scientists for the Nation.
