[India_Vision_2020] 50th Edition of ezine PR-e-Sense - 'National pride' organisations and UnSung Heroes

The Golden Jubilee edition (50th edition) of our ezine PR-e-Sense will be formally released in a simple function at Chennai on Saturday the 1st May 2010 in the presence of eminent persons at Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya premises.  We have chosen this place consciously, as this Vidyalaya was one of the dream projects of Mahatma Gandhi.  He personally named as 'Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya' and monitored the functions. .  

As announced earlier, this edition will carry an exclusive interview with former President of India Dr Abdul Kalam.  This edition will also feature 3 'National pride organisations' and 5 'UnSung Heroes', who are silently moving the wheels of the nation for development.  We are proud to announce  the following organisations will be featured in the ezine and also honoured in the function on 1st May 2010.

'National pride' organisations (3)

1.  Election Commission of India - For managing the world's largest election process utilising the services of nearly 5 million Government employees transparently 

2.  Indian Railways - moving the wheels of the nation - Largest employer of the country

3.  Indian Postal Services - Largest postal network, including the remote areas - Second largest employer of the country

(Though they are public sector organisations with huge network, there are many aspects  that private corporate sector need to learn from them)

UnSung Heroes (5)

4.  Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya - a Dream institution started by Mahatma Gandhi, now managed by  Gandhians and developing vocational skills for poor children.

5.  Consumers Association of India - For creating Consumer Awareness on various vital issues, braving challenges. 

6.  India Sudar 
7.  Dream India 
8.  Helping Minds 

(6, 7 and 8   - Group of young software professionals and students  involved in social works, focussing on  education)

Special Recognition

9.  Mr Triambak Sharma, Editor, Cartoon Watch, Raipur - For creating a vibrant cartoon character 'PRince' for the ezine

10.  Mr Hansraj, Member of Parliament from Maharashtra - For raising maximum number of questions and participation in the first year of 15th Lok Sabha (No 1 in 15th Lok Sabha)

11.  Mr Ramasubbu, Member of Parliament, Tamilnadu - For raising maximum number of questions and participation in the first year of 15th Lok Sabha ( No 8 at all India level and No 1 in Tamilnadu)
