Dear friendsFormer Indian President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam always says that innovation and technology only can help sustained economic growth.. Though, India has been doing an excellent job in the software domain, the Indian professionals are being used only as 'workers' by the Multinational companies. We are lagging behind under innovation. Unless, Indian professionals come out with hardware and software products, economic growth of India cannot be sustained.Inspired by Dr Abdul Kalam's words, Arvind Thiagarajan (now 30), started working on inventions right from his Engineering College days. When he was studying in Anna University, he was fortunate to meet and interact with Dr Kalam, who was working as a Professor with Anna University in early 2000, before he became the President of India. Dr Kalam advised him to innovate and also patent all his inventions.Today Arvind has got more than 40 patents in his name covering various important domains like bio technology, imaging, etc. Incidentally, he is also part of our India Vision Group. .
Recently, he also introduced one device HDfonoDoc, which can detect the murmur in the heart within 10 seconds and can give a print out of the sound waves. This is the first of its kind in the world and will revolutionalise the health care industry in the diagnosis of cardiac problems. He has also obtained FDA approvals from US and CE approval from Europe. He is also planning to add more hardware and software products and dedicate to India. For him the hobby is 'innovation'.On behalf of India Vision Group, we congratulate him for his achievement. We need more of young Arvinds to take our nation forward. He has also been supporting young scientists with suitable guidances for registering their patents. If any of your young friends need any support or guidance, they can contact him through mail arvind.thiagy@gmail.com.This week, we met him and recorded his podcast interview for PodUniversal. In this podcast, he has explained the interesting success story. In this podcast, we have also added 40 seconds audio clip of Dr Abdul Kalam, sharing his views on the importance of innovation. Please listen to his interview (9 m 50 sec)SrinivasanModerator
