When Anna Hazare and his team put pressure on the government to enact a strong Lok Pal law within a time frame he was accused of arrogating the Parliament's power of legislation to himself. The people's representatives argued that Parliament is supreme and it should be allowed to use its wisdom to decide what is best to the people in tackling the scourge of corruption. Looking at what happened in the Loksabha and Rajyasabha during the debates on the Lokpal and other bills one can't help concluding that they want power without responsibility and accountability. Many were not even present during the discussions. Every citizen should bend his head with shame on the conduct .of these representatives.
