I am delighted to having read your mail about MP's taking student interns. I have already come across student Parliamentary Internship for a period of 11 months hosted by former Lok Sabha Speaker Shri. Somnath Chatterjee and i believe its a rewarding experience for aspiring young politicians like me to get a hands on experience about politics and parliamentary procedures especially from rewarded Top performing MPs. And as i am a humanities student doing my MA in History from Loyola College, Chennai, I would be extremely happy if i too would be given a chance to patricipate and benefit by this internship. dear all

During the Annual Awards 2011 organised by Prime Point Foundation at Chennai, I had suggested to the top performing MPs (Mr Hansraj of Chandrapur, Mr Anandrao Adsul of Amravati and Mr Ramasubbu of Tirunelveli to consider taking student interns and train them in Parliamentary proceedings and practices. They readily agreed to take 5 students each on the spot. This has also been reported in the Media today.

For time being, the students studying Political science and Humanity subjects, can avail the advantage of getting trained by the India's top performing Lok Sabha Members.

The Department of Humanities and Social science of Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai have agreed to select among the interested students and send them to these MPs for internship.

We will work out the modalities and procedures, after the vacation of IIT. This is the first of its kind in India. This initiative will help the aspiring political science students to get trained by the best MPs of our country. This will also help to synergise the experience and wisdom of top MPs and the creativity of the young students. In due course, it will also motivate other top performing MPs / MLAs to take student interns.

Let us thank the three MPs, Mr Hansraj, Mr Adsul and Mr Ramasubbu for their support to this new initiative.
