Re: [India_Vision_2020] KALAM FOR PRESIDENT - PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT

OFFICIAL STATEMENT copied from Abdul kalam FB page (https://www.facebook.com/OfficialKalam)

My dear friends,

You are aware of the developments in the run up to the Presidential election. Though I have never aspired to serve another term or shown interest in contesting the election, TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, other political parties wanted me to be their candidate. Many, many citizens have also expressed the same wish. It only reflects their love and affection for me and the aspiration of the people. I am really overwhelmed by this support. This being their wish, I respect it. I want to thank them for the trust they have in me.

I have considered the totality of the matter and the present political situation, and decided not to contest the presidential election 2012.

Yes, as he has already become president unless Congress and BJP support win is not guaranteed hence no point for distinguished person like Shri Kalam to fight for a post which he already served so well.

Dear All,
Undoubtedly, Shri Abdul Kalam is the right person for the President of India but political people are electing the President.  So, he won't get elected by them.  Hence, it is better not to presssurise him to contest in this election.

Dear

I wish Kalam not to be in the contest.

because he cannot do any thing in this Political scenario.

In India President is not a post for Bureacrauts.

It has became a pure political nominee.

Also my humble opinion is Kalam is not th right fit for the post.

As a true Indian I have high regards on him.

But due to his instablity in the Presidential race he is losing his credibility.

It is better for him to avoid his candidature.

Because he is not going to get elected by the votes of the General Public.

It is purely a political Game.

here only the wishes of the political leaders getting turned as votes.

regards

Dear All
Blessings/Regards
Who doesn't want Dr A P J Abdul Kalam to be President of India again?
But, but
Should we drag him into a situation where powers-that-be would do everything to get the "official candidate" elected?
It is true that Dr AP J Abdul Kalam did dignify his occupation as an opportunity to serve
But, but
Should we bring down his dignity?
Should we drag him into the election? - this "nomination-to-be" is more for NOT allowing Pranab get elected unopposed
But, but
Dr Kalam CANNOT be allowed to be defeated

Do I sound impertinent?
Sorry, if I do. Please forgive me.

Blessings/regards
Punch

Hi all,

India is at a crucial juncture and struggling in the wake of corruption and various administrative challenges. We need a statesman to lead India out of this pathetic state of affairs; someone who is not part of any Political Party and especially not from a party that has been at the helm of affairs when most of these ills set in. We need a person who has stature to hold this esteemed office and restore the lost glory.

As the head of the largest democracy in the world, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam had in his earlier stint brought dignity to this post, a dignity that was not seen since the years of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, Shri Rajendra Prasad. Calling Kalam as a "Jewel of India" will not be an exaggeration. It is no wonder that millions of Indians are ready to follow him even today.

In today's context Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is the right fit for this post. An overwhelming majority of Indians feel that Dr. Abdul Kalam should become the President once again.

We have formed a movement "Kalam for President" to give a platform to the multitudes who have pledged their support for Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. In the coming days, we will be organizing daily roadshows to bring all the supporters together. We hope that this will turn into a massive groundswell support for his candidature. We are planning to have a daily meeting at Marina Beach behind Gandhi Statue starting from 19th June till 24th June. This meeting will give an opportunity for the supporters of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to gather and voice their demand for him to be the next president.

Regards,
