As you all know, on 1st January 1983, Vinton G Cerf and his team by inventing the TCP/IP protocol switched on the Internet network, which we enjoy today. Mr Vinton G Cerf is known as 'Father of Internet' and is a legendary person having revolutionised the globe. He was also given 'Turing Award' which is equivalent to Nobel Prize. (Nobel Prize is not given for technology). Last week, President Obama has invited him to join the National Science Board in US. He is now the President and CEO of Google Special Services Inc. and Chief Internet Evangelist of Google.
He is the International President of 'Association for Computing Machinery' ACM. Yesterday, he has come to Chennai to address the Annual Conference of ACM, India Chapter.
I had the exclusive privilege of spending time with this legendary person for nearly 45 minutes last night. I have also recorded an exclusive interview with him on behalf of PodUniversal and our ezines PreSense and New Gen Thamizhan. During this inspiring interview, he has talked about how he felt about the present day internet as compared to his vision when he founded, the security aspects of Internet, how India will emerge after 5 to 10 years and also his exclusive message to Indian youth.
I was highly impressed with the simplicity of this legendary person. In these days, when we see people with very little knowledge and small achievements posing as great achievers, it was refreshing to see a person who revolutionised the world looking very simple and down to earth. They are the role models for our youth.
Mr Vinton G Cerf is being featured as the 'Man of the month' in our Jan 2013 issue of ezine PreSense with his exclusive podcast. As usual our ezine will be released on 1st Feb 2013.
