The historic law The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act or popularly known as Right to Education Act (RTE) came into force on 1st April 2010. For the first time in Indian history, a law was brought to force by the Prime Minister addressing the nation.
This Act offers a fundamental right to every children upto 14 years to get education. This Act provides some responsibilities to the parents too. It also provides 25% reservation even in private schools for the weaker section of the society.
