South India deserves to host a prestigious event like Asiad 2019. Delhi had the honour of hosting Asian Games once and in the next few weeks, the Commonwealth Games. Changing the venue to Bangalore or Chennai would be a good idea. Personally, I would prefer Bangalore.
I agree that there should be more programmes towards identifying talent and nurturing them. In such a vast country with millions of young people, there must be thousands of talented children waiting to be discovered.

I agree partially with Jagannathan. Changing the venue won't help in solving the problem. Problem is the involvement of politics in sports. Heads of sports organisations should be international level athletes or sportsmen, and it should work free of politics.

Hosting games in India is a money making venture for few and will not help in developing the sports or sportsmen/women. If at all the country is really interested then it should spend money on developing talent. If one looks back it will be evident the medal winners are the ones who had trained on their own.

dear friends
Common Wealth Games 2010 has drawn into lot of controversies. This has made the Indian Government to re-think hosting of proposed Asian Games in 2019 in India. Such decision will be counter productive to the reputation and image of India among the world communities.
It is the responsibility of the Government to identify the corrupt politicians and officials and punish them under law. Only the corrupt people should be thrown out of the system and not the games and sports. Any decision to avoid Asian Games 2019 will demotivate the youth power in the country, particularly when we are talking about Vision 2020.
A suggestion has come from the various service organisations and people interested in the sports and games to hold the Asian Game 2019 at any South Indian Centres, who have the facilities to host such a large game. Now Chennai has developed as an International City and now known as India's Detroit. More and more international companies are preferring Chennai and other South Indian cities. This would help the South Indian centres to develop huge infrastructure and to attract tourism. This would further help to prepare the Indian youth for an International event.
It is time that the Government looks at the issue in a more positive manner.
