[India_Vision_2020] Re: Honouring top Parliamentarians of 15th Lok Sabha and round-table on social leadership and development politics
Dear allOn behalf of our ezine PreSense, we have been honouring the top Parliamentarians of Lok Sabha. In 2009, we featured them exclusively with their interviews in our ezine. In 2010, we honoured them in an exclusive function at Chennai in the presence of eminent citizens of the city.Again during this year, we will be honouring the top Parliamentarians, who have scored top position in debates, private bills and questions on Saturday the 7th May 2011 at Chennai.Presently, due to various reasons, a 'smear campaign' is being held in India against the Institution of Politics itself. No doubt, there are many politicians are badly perceived. At the same time, nothing can happen without politics. There are many politicians, who contribute to the Nation silently with a visionary zeal. Our purpose is to identify them and encourage them. There are many youngsters, who want to enter into politics and practice development politics. Due toe to smear campaign, they are also hesitant to join politics. If good people, do not join politics, the institution of politics will be ruined. In view of this, we are organising a round-table interaction session with eminent politicians, who have been practicing development politics on that day, immediately after Award Ceremony. Though this interaction session, we want to develop social leadership among the youth.Interested youth, who want to be part of the round table interaction session, may kindly submit their details through the link given below. There is no participation fee.Since, we want to take only 50 youngsters, on the first come first served basis, interested youth may kindly register immediately. This is being held in Chennai, interested youth in the neighbouring states also may join. We will intimate them personally other details after registration. The programme is on Saturday the 7th May 2011 between 10 am and 1 PM.For more details, interested youth may contact me at 91766 50273 or Vinod at 9884124248.The registration closes on 25th May or even earlier, when we reach sufficient number.SrinivasanEditor in ChiefPreSense91766 50273

[India_Vision_2020] 108 bigger than 911…!!!
Some of you might even wonder whether I have lost my sense of mathematical comparison and some others might think whether I am referring to the number 108 with some spiritual significance for chanting names! But people from USA would immediately relate to the number 911, which is used for Emergency situations. Yes, I am talking about Emergency Response services.
Yesterday, I had an opportunity to visit EMRI at Hyderabad, which is popularly known as 108 Emergency Response Service, and I was requested to give a talk on some of the medical research work that I am involved with. I was also given a tour of all the services provided at EMRI. I was very much impressed with the facilities and the wonderful services provided by EMRI. I really believe that EMRI has changed the way the poor people in our country get access to world class emergency response services.
EMRI (http://www.emri.in/ ) handles medical, police and fire emergencies through the "1-0-8 Emergency service". This is a free service delivered through state-of-art emergency call response centers and has over 2600 ambulances across Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. With the expansion of fleet and services set to spread across more states, EMRI will have more than 10,000 ambulances covering over a billion population by 2011. As an Indian, I was proud to know that EMRI 108 has already overtaken the 911 service in USA. EMRI is currently the largest emergency service provider in the world, with capabilities to handle 200,000 calls per day, responding to 30 million emergencies and saving 1 million lives annually! And the best part was that our great ex-President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was the main inspiration behind EMRI and to quote his own words "EMRI is a solution from a developing country for the developing world". It goes to prove strongly that with such INSPIRED TECHNOLOGICAL SERVICES, there is still HOPE for the poor in our country and also CONFIDENCE for the Youth that INDIA VISION 2020 (http://www.indiavision2020.org/ ) will be a reality!!!

These children remain some of the most vulnerable in the world, with nobody to care for them, no social services, NHS, medical aid or money for food and shelter, leave aside health and education and even parents mercilessly decide to abandon them. As part of our 'Sponsor a Child' program, for £20 or equivalent in your currency a month, you can provide shelter, food, clothing, healthcare and education for children like Nandita.
Your continued help and support is much appreciated. Please get in touch with me for any questions or further information,
