[India_Vision_2020] Anti corruption mood of the nation - involvement of youth

hi all

As I am writing this mail, Anna Hazare has been released from Tihar Jail and moving towards Ramlila Grounds to start his 15 days fast demanding a strong Lokpal bill to end corruption.

The entire length and breadth of this nation is vibrating the anti corruption mood.  Yesterday, I visited the IAC volunteers who are on fast at Chennai.  37 young professionals and students are on fast continuously from 16th Aug 2011 in support of Anna Hazare.

There are 10 college students of age group 18 and 19 with full enthusiasm fasting for the past four days. .  Though, they visibly looked tired after long fast,  I could not see any reduction in their enthusiasm level.

Just now I checked up with IAC team.  As I am writing this mail, excepting two, others are continuing their fast on the fourth day.  Two people were not permitted to continue on health grounds.

Besides, many volunteers are participating in a relay fast.  The enthusiasm of young boys and girls are very high.   They want a better corruption free India to be handed over to them.

Probably this is the mood of the nation, fighting against the corruption.  When we are talking about the developed nation by 2020,  the growing corruption syndrome in India is pulling our development and opportunities.

Every one of us are affected by this corruption syndrome in one way or other.  I could see the full enthusiasm and involvement among the media persons, who are covering this anti corruption movement.  Media persons are also part of this society.

Some people told me that they have some differences of views in the Jan Lokpal bill.  We may have differences in the clauses of the bill.  But one thing is common in the minds of the billion plus people of this nation. That is to end corruption.

If young college students can take so much of enthusiasm at this age, definitely, we all should support this movement by one way or other.  Even the Mumbai dubbawalas have shown the way.  Due to various reasons, we may not be able to participate in the protest march or event.  Still we can show our solidarity.

Can we not think of skipping one meal or breakfast a day, till Anna Hazare ends his fast.  We may not get another great opportunity like this, to fight for our mother land.

I have made a podcast feature on the young volunteers who are fasting at Chennai.  The inspiration drew from them, made me to publish this exclusive podcast.  Please watch this 6 minute video and share with others.
