Hi all
Anti corruption movement in India is spreading like fire. In the recent months, lots of scams like 2G, CWG, Adarsh, etc. have surfaced involving persons in politics and corporates.
Anna Hazare, a Gandhian took up the issue and people started giving him support. Though, Lokpal bill was introduced 43 years back i.e. in 1968, none of the Governments took initiative to make it an Act. After Anna Hazre's movement, now the Government has introduced again the new version of Lokpal bill in the Parliament.
Civil Society wants the Jan Lokpal bill to be accepted by the Government. We have already published the difference between the Government bill and Jan Lokpal bill.
When Team Anna wanted to protest against the Government bill, the Indian Government had put lot of blocks to prevent the peaceful protest. the nervousness of the Government has even led to the unlawful arrest of Anna Hazare and remanding him in Tihar Jail.
Anna's arrest has sparked lot of reaction across the nation and further galvanised the movement. At the time of writing this mail, though the Government wanted to release him from Tihar Jail (as against the remanding of 7 days), Anna Hazare does not want to get himself out of the Jail, demanding unconditional permission to protest against the Government Lokpal bill.
I am not sure, why the Prime Minister and Home Minister are nervous about the protest by social worker in a peaceful manner. Their knee jerk reaction has created more complications to the Government. This has also brought lot of people together to fight against the corruption.
Now the print and televison media have also joined together to support this movement, I am confident that the Government has to kneel before the public demand and accept to provide corruption free or corruption less governance.
It is sad that Anna ji, a Gandhian fighting to remove corruption is kept in the same jail where Spectrum Raja, Kanimozhi and Kalmadi are kept.
It is the duty of every Indian residing in India and outside to support the cause to eradicate the corruption from our system, which includes politics and corporates.
