Please find attached the minutes of the meeting for the first US Chapter Meeting.
The 'Executive Summary & Next Steps' for the core team is as follows:
- US Chapter will focus on the 3Es: Education, Environment, and Empowering people.
- Venki and Ramnath will function as 'Coordinators' for the US Chapter.
- Bi-weekly 30 min phone call (time TBD)
- Goal: 100 volunteers by end of 2009
- Will partner with other groups like Malamalarum, India Sudar, Dream India, EXNORA, and others, to promote IV2020 and achieve goals of US chapter initiatives.
- Next step(s) for Venki:
o One page flyer outlining the vision/roadmap for the US chapter
o Will initiate partnerships with other groups to work synergistically on US chapter initiatives.
- Next step(s) for Ramnath:
o Personal goal: recruiting 5 volunteers before May 1
o He knows 3 motivated people who are willing to join us. Two from NJ and one from Baltimore.
o He also has a friend in Germany who's trying to do something similar. In light of Prithi joining the 2020 effort, perhaps, the two can work together with other Europe Coordinators, if any. Ramnath, please ask your friend to contact Prithi through the group.
- Next step(s) for Vijay:
o Vijay will use his color box and add some lipstick to Venki's flyer!
o Vijay will continue to work on the visual and content strategy for Vande Mataram. Initiative is on schedule, with a completion date of April 30.
o After April 30: Vijay will design/develop the US Chapter website
- Next step(s) for all:
o Update Group Database with contact info
o Network and partner with US members of other volunteer organizations to promote IV2020 and achieve goals of US chapter initiatives.
- Future Stuff: Plan to meet F2F sometime
