[India_Vision_2020] Performance of MPs in 15th Lok Sabha till the close of Budget session

dear friends

The Budget Session 2010 of 15th Lok Sbha was closed on 7th May 2010. Till the end of Budget Sessions, the current Lok Sabha had 86 sittings.  PRS India (www.prsindia.org), a Parliament Legislative Research organisation has now released the performance of all the Lok Sabha MPs in raising questions, private member bills and participation in debates.

Probably members may recall that our ezine Pre-Sense honoured top perming MPs on 1st May 2010, based on the position as at the end of March 2010.  We honoured Mr Hansraj Gangaram Ahir (Chandrapur, Maharashtra) for his No 1 position as at the end of March 2010.  Even at the end of Budget Session (as at 7th May 2010), he maintains the No 1 position.

Toppers - First two (overall)

Mr Hansraj (BJP MP) has participated 28 times in debates, introduced 9 private member bills and raised 317 questions, with a total tally of 354.

Mr Anand Rao Adsul (Shiv Sena MP) from Amravati, Maharashtra comes closely second with a total tally of 346 ( 10 debates and 336 questions).

Raising Questions

Anandrao Adsul and Hansraj Ahir who were mentioned as No 2 and No 1 earlier for overall position, have swaped their position in raising questions.  Adsul has stood first by raising 336 questions and Hansraj stood second by raising 317 questions. There is going to be a tough fight between these two MPs in future for securing No 1 position.

Attendance

9 MPs have secured 100^ attendance.  A special mention has to be made about Eknath Mahadeo Gaikwad, Cong MP from maharashtra  has secured 100% attendance and his tally is 264 for raising questions and debates.

General observation

Anandrao Adsul, Shailendra Kumar and Hansraj were also the top 10 performers in the 14th Lok Sabha.  Members may recall that we published the interviews of Adsul and Shailendra Kumar in our podcast and ezine last year.

If you observe, Maharashtra MPs have been performing better.  Let us all Congratulate all the performers  for their splendid achievement.

If any member or media person wants to get the full xl sheet, please write to me personally.  I will forward to them. .
