Re: [India_Vision_2020] Re: Conferring Mahatma title to Dr Kalam - Draft for discussion

Dear Sir,
I am sorry to join with a discordant note. But sincerely, I feel the Mahatma has already been wrongly used and moreover, used with Mahatma Gandhi, and the aftermath of the word generally in the country, proves that people put great persons on the pedstal, to be ignored in their personal life and use them only when it suits their interests political or economic. In this light, since Dr. Kalam is so close to the youths of India, and a spokesperson of India's aspirations, capabalities and positive outlook to take the nation to the greatest height, conferring Mahatam to Dr.Kalam would be indirectly distancing him from the youth and massess. Moreover, the title Mahatma is associated with religious rather that a spiritual connotetion. Therefore, Let us therefore find some other title which clearly epitomise the essence of his personality, his relationship with people and his futuristic approach to the problem.
This is no disrespect to those who have mooted this idea, and Of coourse this is written out of greatest respect for Dr.Kalam.
