Dear Mr.Srinivasan
It is indeed a proud moment for Mr.Rajsekar and for his efforts and thro him to billions of indians.
I always tell my students of MBA class abt the food export and surplus availability in spite of pathetic managemenet by Govt and the strong efforts by CS and Dr.MSS
kudos to them and thanks for bringing the news to us.
Is there a link which can tell the younger generation abt the green revolution and efforts by the team of indians spear headed by CS and dr.MSS

dear friends When India was suffering from serious food shortage in early 1960s, Mr C Subramanian, (popularly known as CS), then Food Minister of Indian Government initiated the 'First Green Revolution' with the help of many Agricultural Scientists. His sustained efforts saved the country from great disaster. In view of this Mr C Subramanian is considered as the 'Father of Indian Green Revolution' and he was given the highest Indian Civilian Award 'Bharat Ratna' in 1998. In the year 2000, when he turned 90, Mr CS founded 'National Agro Foundation' to initiate the Second Green Revolution. CS wanted to focus on "soil to market" in the Second Green Revolution. The first Green Revolution focussed on "seed to grain". After the demise of CS, Mr S S Rajsekar, his son, (a member of our group) continued the initiative with the support of many eminent people. Many eminent Institutions and Scientists are associated with this initiative. Presently, Mr N Ravi, Editor, The Hindu, one of the leading English National dailies of India is the Chairman of the Trust. Dr A P J Abdul Kalam was the Chairman of the Governing Council, till he became the President of India. Presently, Mr R K Pauchauri, an Internationally renowned Economist is the Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Agro Foundation. Mr S S Rajsekar presently holds the charge of 'Managing Trustee'. In appreciation of the efforts done by National Agro Foundation, Mr Rajsekar was presented with a certificate appointing him as Honorary Lt Governor of the Alabama State by the Lt Governor of Alabama Jim Folsom in Montgomery last week. During September 2009, Mr Rajsekar will be making presentation to the Commissioners of Agriculture of all the 50 States of USA.
