Dear Friends,
As you all know, we have been conducting spoken English, personality development and computer classes for our Adyar corporation school past 6 months. A special summer computer course is still going on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of every week. This course would end by May 17th, 2009.
Couple of weeks ago, we formally concluded the spoken English course for this academic year. We had a small feedback session from children and we thought it would be nice to capture it as video with my mobile.

Videos:
Aruna - http://www.youtube.
Talks about how her grammar improved a lot and also is very happy that she and her elder brother always talk to each other in English nowadays. She attributes the DI classes for the various prizes she has recently won in her school in elocution competitions.
JeevaJyothi - http://www.youtube.
Her English has improved a lot in these classes. She enjoyed the various trips that we took her to and also enjoyed reading about and knowing Dr Kalam's thoughts for children. Her wish is to conduct many many classes like these for other children.
Jeevetha - http://www.youtube.
DI means something different for each person. Jeevetha talks about how the volunteers have given her the confidence to face public, dance etc. She used to cry for small things earlier but that is not the case anymore. She fondly remembers the birthday celebrations that we conduct monthly for the kids and is very excited about receiving Prize 'cups' for competitions that even her school doesn't provide.
Saran Raj - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9f03r73FLM
The guy is impressed about how the volunteers teach very patiently. Point to note is that little Saran cannot talk Tamil in the local dialect that chennai is used to. He can talk only in pure Tamil and he does that very well in this video. Nowadays it is very hard to find people who can utter pure Tamil words fluently.
Navaneetha Krishnan - http://www.youtube.
Navaneetha Krishnan used to score just about 30 marks earlier and has seen a 100% increase in marks, as he nowadays scores about 60 in English. Our volunteers focus a lot on grammar and that is once again reflected by this boy's statements.
Anukarasi - http://www.youtube.
Computers! Anusha wants to learn more about them after DI had introduced her to this machine. She also liked the Birla Planetarium visit a lot and was fascinated by the things that she saw and learnt about there.
Arvind Kumar - http://www.youtube.
His vocabulary has improved considerably and he is able to face English sentences with confidence.
She likes the way the DI classes are a mix of entertainment and seriousness. The spoken english classes have helped her a lot.
Sarath Kumar - http://www.youtube.
He realised that he had good drawing skills after we conducted a few drawing competitions.

Birthday celebrations and cake cutting has taken the fancy of these two boys, along with the grammar lessons. They did not even know about grammar before they attended the classes.

He skipped his summer vacation tour as he wanted to attend the DI summer courses. He has the desire to clean up the surroundings of his school along with his friends so that they maintain a clean environment.
