Subject: [India_Vision_ 2020] Education loan case studies mentioned in the ezine - Ray of HOPE! - Update
hi all
Probably, you would have read the two case studies viz. Karthick and Divya, who could not get education loan from banks. Though we did not mention the name of the banks in the ezine, we individually took up the cases with the concerned Bank Chairman through e mail, along with the copy of the ezine.
We took up the cases with the respective Chairman yesterday i.e. 1st feb 2010 morning. Before evening, I got calls and emails from the concerned banks.
Though nothing can be done in the case of Karthick, who is now in the sixth semester of engineering course, the bank officials are meeting the parents of the student and trying to find out how they can be of help to him atleast in future. The concerned bank has also given instructions to the branches not to violate any of the guidelines and to be more serious, when highly deserving poor students approach them for help.
When I contacted Karthick over mobile to inform him that some of the senior officials of the bank may contact him to know what had happened, immediately, his response was, "Sir..let me not get the bank loan.....but none of the bank officers should be put to difficulty". Though his parents are selling vada and samosa in the bus stand, his attitude was positive and highly magnanimous. I was moved by his gesture. Though, the bank officials had harassed him and made him to run pillar to post, in spite of his high marks, he did not want to get them into difficulty or take vengeance.
in the second case study relating to Divya, the bank officials contacted her and asked her to submit the application today. Probably, within two or three days, the loan will be sanctioned. Though she is a parentless and very very poor girl, after returning from the college, she is teaching six young children daily and prepare them for Plus 12.
In the case of public sector banks, if we are able to take up with Chairman of the concerned banks, definitely, there is a hope for justice. Amazingly within 24 hours of the release of our ezine, there is a tremendous development in both the case studies.
As already announced, Action 2020 Team of India Vision Group is going to set up a 'Task Force' to help the highly deserving poor students with education loan, monitoring their studies, creating awareness about repayment of loans, etc.
There is a ray of HOPE.
