I am happy to inform you that Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, one of the reputed and iconic Institutions of India will launch a diploma course on "Business Communication and skills" from 15th June 2010 at Chennai. This will be a six month course. the classes will be held during weekends to facilitate the working professionals to improve their skills.
Recently Mr T S Krishnamoorthy, Former Chief Election Commissioner has taken over charge as Chairman of Chennai Kendra of Bhavan. As you all know, he is a very pro-active person. When I suggested the idea of starting a Business Communication course to him, he responded positively and he is also passionate about providing high quality course content at a very cheap rate to the working professionals and senior students.
Business Communications skills are needed by all the Techie and Non Techie persons to compete globally. The module covers comprehensively, all the areas of Business Communication skills. The entire module is more 'skill based' than 'theory based'. Even the evaluations will be done based on the 'skill development' only. Mr TSK, the Chairman of Bhavan, is constituing a Board of Studies with eminent professionals and CEOs to periodically update the syllabus contents, based on industry needs. Faculty support will be porvided by the industry and academic professionals.
The Bhavan has suggested me to be the 'Programme Coordinator' for time being, to assist in conducting this course. At the end of the six months, the students will be evaluated based on their 'skills' by experts and a 'Diploma in Business Communication and skills' will be awareded. by the Bhavan. The entire course will have 120 hours of teaching / working sessions to develop skills.
Bhavan wants to charge a nominal fee of Rs.10,000/- (ten thosuand only) for the entire course to enable students and low income people to get the benefit. . Probably, this is the first of its kind course in India for all working professionals and senior students.
Presently, the course will be held only in Chennai. Depending on the number of students joining, it may be held in Mylapore and Kilapauk centres simultaneously. ..
