I had been in touch with Karupiya and the doctors. Day before my wife and I spent sometime with them and yesterday my executive was there to handle the situation regarding the police FIR. I had been updating Mr Hariharan also on the phone, but you can forward this mail to him too.
Today I spoke with the doctor and according to him, at the moment there is no need for the surgery. She has been put on the traction since her pelvis cup has fractured which would heal on its own over a period of six weeks after which she should be able to walk with a stick. However they review in case the surgery is required only after two weeks. At the moment she does not require any medication and only bed rest for six weeks. It would however take her 4 to 5 months to walk normally, is doctor's opinion. However, they have ruled out any travelling on the bicycle for her till that time.
One army chap is available with them posted by Col Srinivasan from Chandimandir Cantonment area, and taking care of their daily requirements.
