| Dear all, Today at 4:40 PM IST, proton radiations with the massive energy of 3.5 Tera Electron Volt(TeV) for the first time, successfully collided together in the Large Hadron Collider situated in CERN campus on the Swiss-French border.The apparatus for the experiment had been in the making for last 20 years and the efforts for the collision were being done since last year. The data collected through this collision might be helpful in understanding the biggest mystery surrounding physicists all over the world, the mystery of formation of universe. If we can discover how universe formed, we might discover better how nature works. Thus, this event is of great scientific importance and would be helpful for all mankind. Now, this event is also of specific importance and pride for all Indians.The reason for this is that, the specialized magnets, which are an integral part of the experiment, without which the collision would not have been possible were manufactured and supplied by the Raja Ramanna Center for Advance Technology(RRCAT) Thus, I feel, that this is not only a victory of CERN, but also a victory of Indian Scientific technology for which we all would feel proud.Thus, I congratulate you all on this achievement.
