The Bharatha Matha nursery & primary school established in the year
1970 is situated at Vyasarpadi, Chennai-39. This school is presently
run by an aged woman having spiritual background to serve for the
children of slum dwellers with quality education.
The school has been managed by collecting very nominal fees from
deserving students from deprived sections and in the long years has
educated thousands of children, 80% of whom belong to slum dwellers
with very less income and the rest of whom from marginal, middle
income families.
Recently the school started facing a serious decline as they could not
make both ends meet with harsh financial impedes and soaring
liabilities towards almost a collapse and closure of the school.
The issue of rehabilitation of the school had been brought to Suyam by
certain socially concerned and well wishers to bring the school back
out of crisis and proposed to undertake the school under the
management of Suyam.
Now it has been decided by us to undertake the said school to take
forward the student friendly curriculum that is already being
practiced in Siragu to further dimensions.
This decision albeit a further responsibility over the regular
functioning, we are fully confident to take up the same, only with
great faith over the concerned hearts supporting Suyam's initiatives.
Suyam to take over the management of the school officially on the
auspicious Vijayadasami day of 9th October 2008.
We need funds to purchase basic educational materials, Montessori
materials and meet out the immediate needs to run the school with more
positive energy. We request all the concerned hearts to extend their
support generously.
