Re: [India_Vision_2020] Developing a clean India

I agree with the views and I would like to share a movement called My Clean India that has been building momentum becasue of an effort by Mr Remco from Nainital

The 3rd week of Sept is celeberated as the My Clean India week and we are taking it forward. A small note on the plans for OCt 2, 2008 are as follows to replicate the Dandi March by Gandhi ji to a 'Broom' Yatra' to create Operation Clean.

The country todays needs a mass movement for cleaning the society and our environment. We have left the whole effort on the government agencies and inspite of us facing problem on account of the same we do not care to raise the issues or try to get a solution to the same either on our own or with collective effort either by the community or through the government agencies.

Remco, an Australian who visited India and Nainital was moved by the beauty of Nainital, and was equally shaken by the filth around the city. He came back to shake the people of Nainital in particular and the country in general and thus was born a movement ' My Clean India'. An event on 18th September each year marks the movement wherein he is present every year to shake us to do something.

While this movement has moved to Lucknow, Allahabad, Agra besides this area it is planned to convert this movement in a people's movement on the lines of the independence movement by Gandhi ji. To take it forward we need support from all corners and it has to be a commitment to the cleanliness in all forms. The saints have taken the lead to clean the holy river Ganga and the launch also has incidentally happened yesterday. All like minded people and society have to network.

We are planning a rally on the 2nd October 2008 from St Theresa School Kathgodam to the Stadium starting 830 am to be flagged off by the Chairperson Nagarpalika and other prominent personalities of the city and would like your support in making it a success.

Samina is right..we Indians have to change our mentality. We do not throw garbage when we go to abroad, but
we practice it in our country. Keep Country Clean.
