I would like to few more points to this:
1. Politicians, which ever party they are, except few, take care of themselves- not the poor public. Even after so many years of independance, we common people strive and struggle for the basic amenities like food, good water , proper shelter and peaceful living conditions. On the other hand, we see the financials of the politicians soar up like inflation( of course not index).
Here I suggest one thing-First they are submitting a financial status report. Let the EC assess their financial statement after the span of five years. The Assessment should include theirs, spouse, sons, or any benamis also. Let us be graceful and allow the full salary & incentive amount as savings for all the five years. Balance should be taken back to the government exchequer.
I hope the money which has been taken away from all the tax payers(Let me be clear , every individual in the country pays tax by some way or other- Vat, Service tax etc.,) will be ploughed back in to the system.
In such a situation, only persons with good motive will come and contest in elections.
