Dear All In 2002 education was made a fundamental right !! Usually constitution rights are guaranteed through laws formed by govt to implement that !! This has taken quite some years !! There are some good aspects in this legislation : Key provisions of the Bill include:
Also - Chapter on Teachers is interesting !! Infact law says it prohibits private tutions :-) ! Visit the link to see the bill : http://educationfor We sincerely hope this will yield good results. We urge all the NGO's in primary edu field to keep track of this & utilise the benefits of it once it is out. These days we see state govt's are proactive & are willing to work with NGO's in big way. Ofcourse they also have obligation to meet the "UN Millennium Development Goals" ... of meeting universal education for all ! Hope this legislation like RTI will create more urgency & participation from public ! Regards shiva |
