Re: [India_Vision_2020] Let us salute the brave soldiers!

HI All,

I have been a passive listener in this forum, but reading the following posts i have decided to post in this forum. This will be a ong one but this is once when i thought that i should vent out my frustation. I do agree with the points mentioned below. Salute to the brave soldiers who risked their lives and completed this operation successfully. What we also need to be aware of is, they were not just fighting against terrorists but they had the responsibility of ensuring that non of the civilians died because of them. So, kudos to these people who performed under such intense pressure.

The point about the politicians is completely valid but not so relevant in this case. In this case clearly there was a failure from the Intelligence Bureau. Why were they not able to sniff this operation before it even started? Out IB is considered one of the best in the world and if they could not get a hint of this operation then it is very difficult to have faith in this system. what i would be more interested in knowing is whether the IB fed the information and the concerned administration/officials did not act on it or there was a complete failure of IB itself. If it is the former, then we need to find out the people who did not act and the reasoning behind them.

We can keep on cribbing about our politicians but frankly where don we stand in voicing our thoughts in this corrupt system and even if we voice it then what are the chances that some action would follow. What i would encourage is more of Tehelka type of exposures and the corrupt politicians being thrown out of the system and we as citizens of India should use the infrastructure that the government has created (like the SMS drive initiated by CBI) and make use of it as effectively as we can so that the government can invest further in such drives.

We talk about the 350 policemen being used for inane services like CMs security and that too when she is going for her election campaigns. The same job can be done with even 10-15 police officers without involving the top honchos of the police department. Why are we not protesting against it? Why cant we demand the reasons using RTA which the police officers are claiming for a ZZZ++ security to our so called Behanji(who is more of a trouble to the local  people now) .

We as responsible netizens can atleast do these small bits which i can think will create a big impact on this democratic system and tell these political leaders that the days are gone when the general public would just be quite and tolerate whatever these people in power would do. as some one has already mentioned, some of the people in this forum have some level of connect in the media. we can use those connects and launch a successful campaign against this atrocity on the police officers whose job roles are completely being altered from being protector of the common people to being bodyguards of a single person and frankly even if untoward incident happens to her i would be least bothered. i am more keen on knowing how those 350 police officers could be used in making the security of the country more impregnable so that we don't have a situation like Mumbai repeated

Disclaimer – I am not a anti-mayawati person. I am a Mumbai citizen and I would write the same against Raj Thackerey , if need be. But reading the article on the new security of Mayawati made me think how much of our tax payers money is being wasted by such politicians and was feeling dreadful about those police officers who aspire to do something for the country but all they end up in doing is being a body-guard to some corrupt officials

Can we do something here to address small issues(which i am sure will have a big impact) while drawing up a long term action plan.

Thanks,
Shiv

Dear Patriots,

Since July'05, about 20 such terrorist attacks have been enacted by terrorists on our soil and after every attack , our cowardly leaders keep promising that this menace will be eradicated ! WHAT A SHAME ! Terrorists seem to be more united and successful than our hypocritical politicians !?

As long as our politicians do not place our NATIONAL INTEREST  above their selfish / destructive interests , WE WILL CONTINUE TO SEE SUCH TERRORIST ATTACKS. This is not my wish , but , unfortunately, this is the plain truth .

Yes, WE SALUTE the patriotism of our brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in the service of our Motherland. But , this salute , their patriotism and the sacrifice of our freedom fighters WILL GO WASTE if we do not ACT.  It is not enough just to watch and sympathise. WE NEED TO ACT , TO CHANGE OUR PEOPLE'S MINDS AND TO CHANGE OUR LEADERSHIP.

WE NEED TO DEVELOPE AN ACTION PLAN TO COMPLETELY REFORM OUR SOCIAL AND POLITICAL SYSTEM .

All the Patriots of our Nation long for a fundamental change in our political and social system . For many decades our political parties and leaders have proved beyond doubt that they will not make this change because of UTTER  SELFISHNESS . THEY HAVE SUCCESSFULLY TRANSFORMED OUR COUNTRY INTO A JUNGLE !  So, no point in trusting them anymore .

We , the true patriots of this country , should come forward and take this responsibility to transform India . WE ONLY CAN & SHOULD MAKE THIS CHANGE . The CHANGE is NOT going to drop from the heaven. We must work hard to make this change happen.

If we do not act, our grand children and great grand children will inherit only a chaotic , disintegrated JUNGLE to live in . This will be the worst INJUSTICE to our future generations.

If we start sowing the seeds of CHANGE today, I believe, we will definitely see a transformed India within our lifetime. It will take a long time in such a big country, but it is definitely achievable IF WE PUT OUR HEARTS AND MINDS TOGETHER .

So, shall we as a group work together and DEVELOPE AN ACTION PLAN. Is it possible in this forum ? I request the moderator to kindly advise on this suggestion.

Yours sincerely,
S.Muralikrishnan

Dear Sir,

I think the law to treat the terrorism in our country needs to be strengthened and the forces involved to counter attack the terrorism should be saluted.
This is the lesson to be learnt and be more vigilant to tight the entry/exit points to the cities.
Can we plan for a minute of mourning thru this forum for those braviers ended their life.

Reagrds,
Siga

I entirely agree.

But I have a question which is nagging me.How is it that 12 or 20
terrorists hold the entire city/nation to ransom.Even assuming they
had terrible ammunition, dont we have enough people -armed people to
disarm these antisocial animals?Israel can teach lessons. How did they
save almost everyone except one or two of those kidnapped & hijacked
passengers at Entebbe? The simple point is we keep our borders porous
on the coast & on the northeast. We have money to distribute
gifts/subsidies but no keenness to secure our borders. The primnary
duty of govt is provide security, food, clothing education &
healthcare. All parties have failed to provide but have time/money for
unwanted items because of petty politics.

Only God can help this nation!

Best wishes
TSK
