Dear friends, Though striking makes out an option for the people to express their grief to get their point to be done by the government. But the way in which it is made in our India makes every body those who are not determined to just take part for the sheer satisfaction of getting a day off from their work. am i right if i tell that 50% of the people involved in the strike will favour for enjoying free time at home. BUT the case in Japan is different Whenever they want to put their demand, they produce over and above the requirement else the workers of a shoe company will produce only one set of the pair, actually this forces the government to make decision and also man hours are not wasted and the people taking part in such a strike will get to know the true value of their point being raised to get a resolution from their government. Added benefit is that the human force do not get demoralised due to the free time and gossiping like that taking place in our country. Why do we not use that option for a strike? If in this case as Mr.Srinivasan has pointed out, the oil sector employees if they are overproducing their product, actually it will mean that they are doing that hard thing to press their damand and 100% of the people involved in the strike will get the clear message on "Why there is a strike happening in their company" and "Why I need to work more?" In the long run strike gets the true value intended with it. Regards Srini http://srini. http://startupstory http://twitter. --- On Fri, 1/9/09, Raghavachari Desikan <raghavachari.
