Dear all,
recently the government in rajasthan has issued orders curtailing the time limit of the Liquor shops to be opened till 8pm sharp. today i was talking to one of my friends who is in Police and i was surprised to know when he mentioned that this order has started curbing the crime rates and that liquor related crimes have shown a perceptible decrease not to mention the abatement of other instances where people use to be seen sitting late in the night near the liquor shops.
i am reminded of Anna Hazare ji's very successful attempt in making a turn-around of his village - Ralegaon Siddhi - from a poor, drought prone village to crime free, prosperous village when we witnessed the same during our college trip.
it has been already stated by many other people from force like - Sh. YP Singh, IPS who has written a fantastic book - Carnage by Angels that how Liquor causes havoc in families.
i wonder how such small measures go a long way in altering the lives of so many citizens.
Thanks,
Rishi
